Retired for 5 years or longer

Create a Profile

Applicant: Visit the Licensing and Registration Portal to create a profile with a passport quality photo

Apply

Applicant: Complete the Initial LEO/Out-of-State Security Officer Application, request affiliation with a licensed security company, and upload your commission card, POST certificates, and POST firearms card.

Company: Accept affiliation request, upload identification, and upload completed I-9 form

Payment

Applicant or Company: Submit payment for application

Applicant: Begin background check process by visiting IdentoGo.com and use IdentoGo code 27N43R

Training

Applicant: Complete the four-hour S.O.S.T. 1401 training course and pass the required examination before the first work assignment.

Review & Approval

LSBPSE Agency: Review application, document, and training completion. Upon approval, issue a registration card listing, which includes affiliated company name, issue date, and expiration date.

IMPORTANT: Once company affiliation is accepted, the applicant will appear on the company roster, but they cannot begin working until the valid registration card displaying company name, issue date, expiration day is received by the applicant
