Enforcement & Public Protection

The LSBPSE Compliance Unit supports the enforcement of Louisiana's private security laws and regulations. When violations are identified, the unit works with the Board, legal counsel, and appropriate agencies to address noncompliance, promote accountability, and protect the public.

Enforcement Actions May Include

  • Cease-and-Desist Orders: Requiring individuals or companies to stop unauthorized or unlawful private security activities.
  • Administrative Penalties: Supporting the assessment of fines, license suspensions, revocations, or other disciplinary actions when warranted.
  • Corrective Action: Providing guidance, issuing warnings, or requiring corrective measures to address identified violations, as authorized by law.
  • Legal & Agency Coordination: Working with legal counsel, law enforcement, and other regulatory agencies when additional enforcement action is necessary.

Protecting the Public

Enforcement helps prevent unlicensed security activity, address violations, and maintain professional standards throughout Louisiana's private security industry.

LSBPSE reviews violations and determines appropriate action based on the nature and severity of the findings, in accordance with applicable laws and Board procedures.
