COMPLIANCE UNIT

Introducing the LSBPSE Formal Compliance Unit

The Louisiana State Board of Private Security Examiners (LSBPSE) proudly announces the establishment of its inaugural formal compliance unit. This unit will be responsible for ensuring that private security companies and security guards fully comply with all statutes and rules governing the private security industry.

Responsibilities of the Compliance Unit:

  1. Company Audits: Conducting comprehensive audits of private security companies to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  2. Site Compliance Checks: Performing on-site checks to verify adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  3. Administrative Investigations: Investigating administrative matters related to compliance issues.
  4. Training Evaluation: Evaluating training classes to ensure they meet the necessary standards and requirements.

In addition, the compliance unit will identify unlicensed companies and take appropriate action. This may include issuing Cease-and-Desist Orders and Letters, collaborating with the LSBPSE General Counsel to file civil injunctions in the relevant civil courts, and working with local law enforcement to issue municipal summonses to company owners who fail to comply with Cease-and-Desist Orders.

The primary goal of our annual audits is to enhance the quality of service provided by the private security industry and to build public trust through transparency and accountability.

We encourage the business community and the public to report compliance issues involving a security company or a security guard. All tips will remain anonymous and will be thoroughly and fairly investigated. To report compliance issues, please call 225-272-2310 or email us at tipline@lsbpse.com. Together, we can ensure a higher standard of private security services and maintain public trust in our industry.
